It is our vision that all people would come to know God intimately through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, experience lasting transformation and join God in bringing the hope of the Gospel to every corner of the world, starting right here on Long Island!

Our vision is rooted in these 5 Core Values, a reflection of His I.M.A.G.E. —

INTENTIONAL: We desire to grow deeper in our faith in Christ, and become more like Him. For that to happen, we understand it takes intention to live the way of Jesus and be shaped by His nature. It is when we intentionally cultivate a life deeply rooted in Christ, that we exhibit his character in our thoughts and actions; able to lead others into a transformative discipling relationship with Him. (2 Cor. 3:10-11, Col. 3:17, Gal. 5:22, Matt 28:18-20)

MISSIONAL: We view ourselves as ones being sent by God to be the “hands and feet of Jesus”, charged with sharing the message of hope, eternal life and reconciliation to our church, community, and our world. Therefore we are highly evangelistic and concentrate our missional efforts on spreading the Gospel message and support organizations that do so as well. (2 Cor. 5:20)

AUTHENTIC: Our passion is to know God authentically through an intimate relationship with His son Jesus Christ and reflect authenticity in our relationships with one another leading to lasting joy and deeper connection with God and each other. (John 10:14-15, John 13:34, Genesis 2:18)

GOSPEL-CENTERED: We aim to live Christ-centered lives in thought, word and deed so we can be a reflection of His grace & truth. As a church, we present the whole truth of the Bible, God’s story of redemption, emphasizing the life-saving good news (gospel) of Jesus Christ so all will experience His saving grace and be brought into the family of God. (John 1:16-18, Eph. 2:8, Ro. 1:16, 10:9-13)

EMPOWERED: We seek after the person and power of the Holy Spirit to transform us from who we once were, equipping us to do His work as effective witnesses of His glorious grace in spreading the good news (gospel) of Jesus Christ. (Ro. 12:2, 2 Cor. 3:18, ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8)

ASCEND Church is a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered, mission-focused church composed of people from every walk of life. Everything we do is grounded in the truth of the Bible and centered on the person of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Church, which is composed of ordinary people who have be renewed by the Spirit of God, is the hope of the world. We aim to bring that same hope and renewal to our part of the world starting right here in Long Island, NY. (Matt. 5:16)

We believe that experiencing intimacy with God through a personal relationship with his son Jesus Christ is what fills us with deep satisfaction, joy and purpose. As a church, we seek to cultivate an environment where this intimate relationship can be fostered as we continually abide in Christ, allowing His Word to fill our minds, direct our wills, and transform our affections. (John 15:4, Ro. 12:2)

We believe that everyone is welcome in the family of God and the Church is an earthly representation of what heaven will one day be like - a magnificent and beautiful tapestry consisting of many cultures, ethnicities, races and generations, coming together with one sole purpose- to know, enjoy and bring recognition to God. Therefore, at Ascend we promote diversity while emphasizing unity amongst the Body of Christ. (Matt. 28:19, John 17:20-23, Rev. 7:9)

We believe that it is our responsibility and calling to be agents of change in the world around us, by revealing the heart and nature of an invisible God to a world that has never seen Him. We hold firmly to the conviction that to be the change we want to see, we must first be changed through the renewing power of the Holy Spirit.

Finally, we humbly recognize that we are a work in progress and may not possess these values in full measure at this moment on our spiritual journey, however, these values represent who we are ascending to be by the grace of God and for the glory of God.

We are an active part of the Evangelical Free Church of American (EFCA), an association and fellowship of over 1,600 autonomous and interdependent churches united around the same Statement of Faith.

The EFCA movement is united by a mutual commitment to serve the Lord Jesus Christ with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in obedience to the Word of God. We are committed to cooperating with one another in ministry and fellowship as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission which Christ entrusted to His Church. The growing ministry of the EFCA currently extends to over 75 countries of the world.
